Bulls and bears

The market participants that rally for the price of a stock to go up are called \(bulls\), those that rally for the stock to go down are call \(bears\).

You will see or hear comments like stock ABC is “bearish”. This means it currently has a downward tendency in price.

If the price of the stock is going higher, you will hear comments like it is moving into bull territory.
